What is Alt Text?

Alt text (alternative text) describes an image’s content. It’s used by:

• Screen readers for accessibility

Writing Good Alt Text

Do:

• Describe the image accurately
• Include relevant keywords naturally
• Keep it under 125 characters
• Be specific and descriptive

Don’t:

• Start with “Image of” or “Picture of”
• Stuff keywords unnaturally
• Leave it blank
• Use the same text for all images

Image SEO Tips

File Names

Before uploading to Shopify:

• Use descriptive file names
• Include keywords
• Use hyphens between words
