Scheduling allows you to automate your free shipping offers, making it easy to run promotions for specific events like flash sales, weekend deals, or holiday campaigns. Instead of manually activating and deactivating a bar, you can set it to run on a precise schedule.
To get started, navigate to the Schedule Settings within any bar’s configuration page and check the box to Enable scheduling.
Important Note: For a scheduled bar to be visible on your store, its Bar Status must be set to Active AND the current date and time must fall within your defined schedule. If the status is Inactive, the bar will not show, even during a scheduled period.
Understanding the Schedule Types
You can choose from several schedule types based on your promotional needs.
1. Date range
This option is perfect for promotions that run for a specific period, such as a Black Friday weekend sale or a week-long holiday offer.
- Timezone: Select the timezone your schedule should be based on.
- Start date: The date the shipping bar will begin to appear. You can leave this empty for no specific start date.
- End date: The date the shipping bar will stop appearing. You can leave this empty for the promotion to run indefinitely.
- Start time / End time: The specific times the bar will be active on the scheduled dates.
2. Specific days of week
Use this for recurring weekly promotions, such as “Free Shipping Fridays” or special weekend offers.
- Timezone: Select the timezone for your schedule.
- Days of Week: Check the boxes for the specific days you want the bar to be active (e.g., Saturday and Sunday).
- Start time / End time: The time window during which the bar will be active on the selected days.
3. Time-based
This option is ideal for daily flash sales or “happy hour” promotions that run at the same time every day.
- Timezone: Select the timezone for your schedule.
- Start time / End time: The specific time range the shipping bar will show every day.
4. Always show
This is the default setting. When selected, scheduling is disabled, and the bar’s visibility is controlled only by its Bar Status.
